Rising Damp

Rising Damp is the action of moisture travelling vertically through porous building material in contact with the ground. The natural drying action of the upper wall draws moisture upwards to a level of about 1 - 1.5 metres above the floor level.

This results in an unsightly peeling of the paintwork and a crumbling of plaster. Damp walls often emit an unpleasant odour as well as being breeding grounds for bacteria and moulds.

Quick fix measures such as repainting or replastering often make the problem worse by forcing the dampness to a higher level.

DriAs have specialised in the remedial treatment of Rising Damp for many years. We provide our customers the choice of two safe and environmentally friendly methods of treatment.

1. Chemical injection. This method involves injection of damp course fluid into the affected wall to provide a new damp proof course. This method has been successfully used in the treatment of rising damp for over 40 years.

2. Lectros Technology. This system is new in Australia and uses the scientific process of electrical osmosis to permanently eliminate dampness.

Both of these systems are completely SAFE and ODOURLESS.

We can help you! By contacting DriAs, a technician will attend your home or building. We will provide a free dampness survey and provide a written report indicating the results.

DriAs use non toxic, environmentally friendly materials. There is no need to evacuate your home either during or after treatment.

DriAs provide a written 20 year guarantee on all rising damp treatments.

Lectros System
We recommend the use of the Lectros system wherever possible. This system has many advantages over the traditional Rising Damp treatments....(more info from the lectros website).

C.S.I.R.O. Appraisal
Both of our Rising Damp Treatments have been tested and appraised by the C.S.I.R.O.
